Alteriors' rug collection is anchored by Nanimarquina and Moooi Carpets — two very different approaches to designer rug-making, from Nanimarquina's hand-crafted, often made-to-order Spanish and Afghan-woven rugs to Moooi Carpets' bold, graphic, digitally-printed and hand-tufted designs developed alongside Moooi's broader furniture and lighting collections.

Nanimarquina's rugs are worth understanding as genuinely artisanal objects: many are hand-made using traditional weaving techniques passed through generations of craftspeople, available in multiple sizes and colorways, with production timelines that reflect real handwork rather than machine manufacturing. Moooi Carpets takes a different approach entirely, translating the brand's distinctive, often maximalist visual language into rugs meant to anchor a room the way a piece of art would.

Because rug scale and colorway are so specific to a room's dimensions and existing furniture, our team can help with sizing and material selection before you order — particularly important for Nanimarquina's made-to-order pieces, where production timelines run longer than in-stock inventory.
